Congratulations to Channchi Chau, Jenhi Garcia, Melissa Jullig, Dixon Li, Jeff Nagata, and Aria Pakatchi for winning 3rd place in the Big Ideas Competition for Social Justice! They received $4500 in grant money in care of Project Pueblo! Great work!!! There is still a chance too that they might win some more money - let's pray and hope they do! This grant money will be used to fund a housing project for a family in need within the Bennett Freeze area of the Navajo reservation. Here is a piece of what the congratulatory email read: Congratulations! Your submission to Big Ideas @ Berkeley was selected by the judges for a 3rd Place, $4,500 prize in the Social Justice, Community Engagement competition category. Yours was selected from over 200 submissions received from across the UC Berkeley campus, reflecting the high caliber of your project. We believe your idea has high potential and we encourage you to reach out to the Big Ideas @ Berkeley team as you continue working on the project. A copy of their grant proposal will be posted soon on projectpueblo.org. |
